Investigation Of Decomposition Reaction Of Thiourea Which Is Used In Leaching Processes Of Precious Metals

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 1999Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 1999Altın, gümüş gibi değerli metallerin zenginleştirilmesinde yaygın olarak kullanılan siyanür prosesinin önemli miktarlarda çevre kirliliğine neden olduğu savına karşılık, çeşitli çözümler araştırılmaktadır. Bu çözümlerin önemli bir kısmı siyanür prosesi sonunda atılan siyanürlü artıkların doğal ve kimyasal yöntemlerle nötralize edilmesi yönünde iken, bir kısmı da çevreye daha az kirletici etkisi olan veya hiç olmayan alternatif reaktiflerin kullanımı yönünde olmaktadır. Altın gümüş gibi kıymetli metallerin liçinde, siyanüre en kuvvetli alternatif tiyoüre olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, kıymetli metallerin tiyoüre ile liçinde yaygın olarak kullanılan demir sülfat ve sodyum sülfitin farklı pH ve sıcaklık koşullarında tiyoürenin bozunması üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmış; kullanılan reaktiflerin konsantrasyon ve miktarları ile tiyoürenin bozunma oranı arasındaki ilişkinin matematiksel bir fonksiyon ile tanımlanabilme olanakları araştırılmıştır.It is being searched for finding solutions against the remarkable extent of environmental pollution which is thought to be caused by the cyanide process used in the enrichment of the valuable metals like gold and silver. Majority of these solutions are focused on the neutralization of cyanide by products of cyanide process, using natural and chemical methods and the rest is utilizing alternative reactants which have less or none pollutive effect upon environment. Thiourea is pointed that more powerful reactant in the other alternative reactants compared to cyanide for the leaching of gold and silver. In this study, the effect of iron sulfate and sodium sulphide, which are commonly used in thiourea leaching, upon the decomposition of thiourea has been studied at different pH and temperature conditions and in an environment free of ore; it has been investigated to find a way of defining the relationship between the concentration and quantities of the reactants used and decomposition rate of thiourea in terms of a mathematical function.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
