Bu kombinasyon neticesinde biyomalzeme, uçak ve uzay sanayi ve kimya sanayi gibi alanlarda kullanılır. Ancak titanyum ve alaşımlarının bu üstün özelliklerine karşın zayıf, yetersiz yüzey özellikleri ve yüksek sürtünme katsayısına sahiptirler.
