Analysing Drilling And Foundry Characteristics Of Mixed Type Bentonites Activated By Na2co3 – Mgo Combination

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2009Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2009Bu tez çalışması kapsamında, Çorum - Osmancık bölgesine ait ara tip (Na-Ca) bentonitleri, belirli oranlarda Na2CO3 ve MgO ile aktive edilerek, döküm kumu karışımı ve sondaj çamuru içerisinde fiziksel ve teknolojik özelliklerinin değişimi araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen karışımların önce şişme, viskozite ve filtrasyon kaybı gibi teknolojik özellikleri, ardından da mekanik özellikleri incelenmiş ve bu iki özellik arasında herhangi bir kolerasyon olup olmadığına bakılmıştır. Tez kapsamında, belirli oranlarda katkı yapılan bentonitler; Basma Mukavemeti, Yaş Çekme Mukavemeti, Ezme Mukavemeti, Kesme Mukavemeti ve Gaz Geçirgenliği ölçümleri, döküm bentoniti test yöntemleri ile, Şişme, Viskozite ve Filtrasyon Kaybı ölçümleri de sondaj çamuru test yöntemleri ile yapılarak test edilmiştir. Ortaya çıkan sonuçlar piyasadaki ticari bentonitlerin değerleri ile karşılaştırılarak incelenmiştir.In this study, wet and dry activation process have been applied to the Çorum-Osmancık reagon mixed type bentonites at specific dosages of Na2CO3 and also a combination of MgO+ Na2CO3. The mixtures were identified by technological properties such as swelling, viscosity and filtration loss. Due to these activations, mechanical properties such as, wet compressive strenght, wet tensile strenght, twin transverse strenght, splitting strenght and gas permeability of these bentonites were evaluated using the procedures and standards of foundry and drilling bentonite testing methods. Correlations between technological and mechanical properties are put forward. The results are evaluated with the commercial bentonites.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
