Investigations On The Acoustics Of Open-air Theatres: The Example Of Istanbul Cemil Topuzlu Open-air Theatre

Modern Çağ’da inşa edilen açıkhava tiyatrolarında ise geçmişin tasarım teknikleri günümüz yapım teknolojisine uyarlanmıştır. Modern Çağ tiyatrolarından birisi sayılan İstanbul Cemil Topuzlu Açıkhava Tiyatrosu antik çağlardan beri süre gelen açık hava tiyatrolarının arazi vaziyetine, iyi görme ve iyi işitme ihtiyaçlarına göre form kazanarak inşa edilmiş bir örneğidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, açıkhava tiyatrolarının akustik özelliklerini, antik dönem tiyatro uygarlıklarının tarihsel gelişimine uygun bir biçimde inceleyerek, yakın dönemde inşa edilmiş olan İstanbul Cemil Topuzlu Açıkhava Tiyatrosu örneğinde elde edilen bulguları bu veriler ile karşılaştırmaktır. Çalışmada; açıkhava tiyatrosunun bilgisayarla simülasyon yöntemi ve alan ölçmeleri yoluyla elde edilen akustik parametre değerleri, birbirleriyle karşılaştırılarak farklı yöntemlerin değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Modern tiyatroların değerlendirilmesinde kullanılan çeşitli parametreler yardımıyla incelenen Cemil Topuzlu Açıkhava Tiyatrosu hacim akustiği ölçütleri açısından Antik Çağ tiyatroları ile uyumlu bulunmuştur. Çatı strüktürünün yol açtığı bazı sorunlar dışında frekans aralıklarına göre tutarlı değerler sağladığı ve genel olarak iyi akustik koşullara sahip olduğu saptanmıştır.Ancient theatres are masterpieces which display excellent architectural and acoustic qualities among their periods. Ancient tecniques have adapted to modern tecniques to built new modern theatres. İstanbul Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre is one of the examples which shows the adaptation of old building tecnologies to new tecnologies by the means of landscape, location, good sightseeing and clear auditory. The aim of this study is to investigate open-air theatre acoustic features which are suitable for the evaluation of the ancient period theatre civilizations. The findings are compared with the results of modern time theatre of Istanbul Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre. In this thesis, the parametre values of computer simulation method and free field measurement method are compared with each other in order to assess the difference of two different acoustical methods. Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre has proven to maintain positive acoustical conditions according to the respects for acoustical quality parametres. Despite the fact that the roof causes some irregularities for some parametres at certain frequencies, most of the values are appropiate for each octave band frequency. Generally it has shown that the theatre has good conditions for acoustics.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
