Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2009Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2009Bu çalışmada, bitkisel artıklardan üretilen ucuz adsorbanlar ile önemli çevre kirletici olan kurşunun endüstriyel atık sulardan giderilmesinin mümkün olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Farklı özelliklerdeki kestane kabuğu ve kayısı çekirdeği aktif karbonlarının sulu çözeltilerdeki kurşun iyonlarını adsorplama kapasitelerinin çalışma koşullarına bağlı olarak değişimi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla; adsorpsiyon süresi (0-300dak.), çözeltinin pH değeri (2, 5), kurşun iyonlarının derişimi (25-750ppm) ve sıcaklık (298K, 328K) gibi parametrelerin adsorpsiyon kapasitesine etkileri belirlenmiştir. Adsorpsiyon deney sonuçları kullanılarak Freundlich, Langmuir ve Temkin adsorpsiyon izoterm modelleri türetilmiştir ve deney sonuçlarına en uygun modelin Freundlich izotermi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Adsorban yüzey alanı, çözelti pH değeri ve adsorpsiyon sıcaklığının adsorpsiyon kapasitesine etkisi iki seviyeli faktöriyel tasarım tekniğiyle istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiş ve korelasyon katsayısı 0.9954 olan ampirik bir eşitlik türetilmiştir. Adsorpsiyon deney sonuçlarından yararlanılarak adsorpsiyon kinetik parametreleri ve modeli belirlenmiştir. Son olarak da adsorpsiyon öncesi ve sonrası SEM mikroyapı görüntüleri karşılaştırılarak yorumlanmıştır.In this study, one of the significant environmental industrial pollutant, lead removal from industrial waste water has been investigated by using cheap adsorbants which are produced from plant wastes. The changes in the lead ion adsorption capacities of chestnut shell and apricot stone activated carbons, having different properties, from the aqueous solutions depending on operation conditions were examined. For this purpose, effects of the parameters, such as adsorption time(0-300 min.), solution pH value (2, 5), concentration of lead ions (25-750ppm) and temperature (298K, 328K), on the adsorption capacity were determined. Freundlich, Langmuir and Temkin adsorption isotherm models were derived by using adsorption experiment results and it was observed that Freundlich isotherm provided the best fit to the experimental data. Effects of the adsorbent surface area, solution pH value and adsorption temperature on the adsorption capacity were statistically investigated by using a two-level factorial design technique and an emprical equation that has regression coefficent of 0.9954 was developed. Adsorption kinetic parameters and models were also obtained by using adsorption experimental data. Finally the SEM images of adsorbents before and after adsorption were compared.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
