This paper analyzes the relationship between ethnic immigrant groups and charitable giving of both money and time using the Canadian Survey of Giving Volunteering and Participating (CSGVP) data sets. Both probit and Tobit models are used for running the regressions. I find that there is a relationship between ethnic groups and giving, and this relationship has been quite consistent over the past ten years. I find that various ethnic groups have different impacts on giving, depending on their length of time in Canada. Both immigrant and ethnicity have a negative effect on the giving of money in some cases, but not for all groups or all samples.
