Alzheimer's disease is an insidious neurodegenerative disorder characterized by gradual and progressive deterioration in intellect, cognitive skills, personality, and functional independence. There is significant heterogeneity of symptom presentation in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, however, memory impairment is universal.
