Os paralelos ficcionais entre a biografia de Heliogábalo na Historia Augusta e a Cena Trimalchionis no Satyricon de Petrónio

Resumo: A complexa relação que Biografia e História estabeleceram na Antiguidade Clássica encontra-se bem patente nas reflexões que o autor da Historia Augusta dispersa ao longo da sua obra. Este artigo pretende analisar a biografia de Heliogábalo à luz dos pressupostos dessa relação e demonstrar que, subjacente à elaboração da Vita do Princípe, se encontram elementos ficcionais semelhantes aos usados por Petrónio na Cena Trimalchionis. Abstract: The complex relationship that Biography and History established in Classical antiquity is clear in the statements that the author of the Historia Augusta spreads over his work. This paper intends to examine the biography of Heliogabalus in the light of the assumptions of that relationship and to demonstrate that behind the drafting of the emperor’s Vita there are fictional elements similar to those used by Petronius in the Cena Trimalchionis
