Amanita ponderosa are wild eatable mushrooms that grow spontaneously in some microclimates, particularly in Alentejo and Andalusia. Due to the symbiotic relation, mushrooms can accumulate high metal concentrations, consequently is important to estimate the trace metal contents to assessing exposure risks.
