Should Schools Start Cultivating Traits for Academic Motivation and Achievement?

There are many factors that influence academic motivation and achievement. Traits/individual\u27s personal characteristics are one of the factors that determine academic performance and achievement in college. Understanding the relationship between traits and academic performance may be helpful to develop more effective teaching and learning strategies. This paper will examine the relationship between the Big Five personality traits (openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism) and learning styles and academic achievement. Further, this paper will address how colleges/universities can cultivate specific traits that are associated with academic performance
