Jesus was a man who inspired many by preaching what he believed to be right and inspiring those with little to no hope. People traveled from all over to hear him speak. There is a flaw with this system; what if you can\u27t hear? When Jesus first had an encounter with a deaf man, he figured he would help by restoring his hearing. But whydidn\u27tJesus know sign language? In the Deaf Community, deafness is a part of who one is as a peron and it is insulting to see that as something that needs fixing. By fixing the man\u27s hearing instead of speaking his native language, this story in the Bible is actually oppressive to the Deaf community.
