Topical analgesics contain menthol to reduce inflammation. Research has shown muscle function improvement after application of topical analgesics, with smaller muscle masses demonstrating greater improvement. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of analgesics with differing properties on peak torque production during maximal concentric contractions of specific muscle masses differing in size.
