This paper is one of a series of similar analysis being made by the Botany Department of Butler University in a study of tree-pollen types from the peat bogs of Indiana. From this detailed study the forest types of Indiana succeeding the periods of glaciation to the present can be partially and fairly accurately reconstructed. The distribution and frequency of the plant life as determined from this study in turn serves as an index to the different climatic changes which followed the recession of the glacial periods.
