[[abstract]]A fault-tolerance technique for flexible-purging redundancy is proposed and designed. The sequence of purging the fault modules is set by 0, 1, 0,... alternately. The flexible-purging redundancy (FPR) scheme with N channels can tolerate N - 1 module failures in an optimal condition, as compared with an NMR configuration yielding (N - l)/2 module failures. Under the worst conditions, the FPR scheme still works properly and its reliability will not fall below the NMR configuration when two or more modules fail simultaneously.
