[[abstract]]In this paper, a novel dc converter is proposed for low voltage distributed energy system applications. The proposed converter possesses the merits of higher step-up ratio, lower input current ripples, lower conduction loss as well as zero voltage switching of active switches. In addition, the proposed converter is allowed to operate at a duty ratio less than 0.5 and hence can achieve much wider operating range. The steady state analyses are made to show the merits of the proposed converter.
