[[abstract]]In this paper, we propose a coding algorithm for a 3D-TV signal with a low computation complexity. To fully utilize the singleness of vision property of the human visual system, one of the images in each stereo pair is low-pass filtered and subsampled. Thus, in this way, we largely reduce the computation cost of the disparity and motion estimation in the subsampled sequence without causing great degradation to depth perception and subjective picture quality. The correspondence between disparity and the motion vector is also exploited. According to this relation, we can further reduce the encoding time conspicuously.
