Redesign of the North Fork Payette River Bridge

The National Bridge Inventory Database lists the existing North Fork Payette River Bridge – State Highway 55, south of Cascade, Idaho – as structurally deficient. The bridge was built in 1933 and does not meet current structural safety standards. This project will provide designs for a replacement bridge designed to meet current safety standards and vehicular volumes. The design will include a new bridge with four travel lanes as well as pedestrian and bicycle traffic lanes. Approach lanes to accommodate the new bridge will be designed to maintain horizontal and vertical alignment with the existing highway. The designs will be based on standards set by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), and will accommodate the projected 20-year traffic volume.
