[[abstract]]We show that there are exact self-dual solutions for the gauged nonlinear Schrödinger equation in 2+1 dimensions for which the masses of the gauge boson and the scalar charged particle are of the same order of magnitude. This is in contrast with the exact solutions found by Jackiw and Pi for the case of a heavy gauge boson when only the Chern-Simons term contributes to the gauge-field part of the action. Our soliton solutions describe charged vortices with no associated electric field.[[fileno]]2010115010046[[department]]物理
