[[abstract]]Proposes a modified one-shot photon-attenuation method for the determination of average void fraction in two-phase flow systems. The modification over the conventional method is made by Monte Carlo calculations. Through a benchmark test, the improvement on the accuracy of void-fraction predictions by the modified method is validated.
