[[abstract]]©1990 Elsevier - A study was carried out to investigate the feasibility of using a packed-bed electrochemical reactor with stainless steel fiber as electrodes to decompose cyanide containing effluent. We found that it is possible to reduce the cyanide content from 1400 mg l−1 to below 20 mg 1−1 within 4–20 h at a 5–13 kw h kg−1 CN energy consumption. A design equation was also formulated to predict the decomposition rate for a given reactor under a given current.[[department]]化學工程學
