Stimulant medication is the most widely used treatment for the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Its effectiveness on behavior and performance on cognitive tasks has been demonstrated, but the evidence of its positive effects on specific skills is still scarce. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of methylphenidate on different reading components in children with ADHD. The participants were 13 children with ages ranging from 7 to 12 years and IQs of 80 or more.
