Advertising communication is characterised by its desire to affect consumers’ beha- viour and makes use of a very wide range of discursive strategies. Sometimes in order to convince its target, advertising turns to classic argumentation strategies that can be clearly seen in the choice of connectors and the way arguments are lin- ked together. But in many cases the argumentation orientation is less obvious and one has to uncover a complex network of expressive choices that subtly affect the structure of the text as a whole.
