A study on the illusion of inclination and the image to the slope in skiing

The purpose of this study is to compare and discuss how differences are there abuot the illusion of inc1ination and the image to the slope with the subjects， who have the different skiing skills. The subjects are 61 men， who are classified into the advanced， the intermediates and the beginners. The subjects looked at the mark which was settled below the 30 meters and estimated that slope， and carried out the image test with the semantic differential method which has 23 items. The results were as follows; 1) The advanced subjects estimated the slope at 25.0 deg， the intermediates 25.5 deg，the beginners 36.9 deg (overstimation), that actual slope was 29.0 deg. 2) On the emotional stability factor， there was the difference of image to the slope acooding to the skill levels. 3) On the emotional evaluation factor，there was not so difference of the image. 4) On the vigor-fatigue factor， the light-darkness factor and conquest factor， there was not difference of the image to the slope. 5) There was the correlation between the emotional stability factor and the slope， simi1arly these results were also appeared between the emotional stability factor and the skill levels
