Optimum Condition for Machining Silicon Steel Plates

Silicon steel is used in the form of plate in manufacturing cores and stators of electric motors. This material is originally hard to machine， it reduces production efficiency. Therefore raising of efficiency is strongly desired. Present study was conducted in order to choose the most suitable material of tool for cutting silicon steel plates， and to research the most suitable shape of tool and the optimum cutting condition. Kolesov type tool design used at high feed-rate operation was found to be effective and this was also proved from the points of view of cost analysis
