In order to improve the overall operational performance of the gyrotrons belonging to our “Gyrotron FU series” a set of experiments has been carried out for investigation of both amplitude and frequency modulation. In an attempt to increase the stability of the output power a substantial stabilization of the high voltage power supply has been achieved. In this paper we present results from experiments performed using the submillimeter-wave tunable gyrotron FU IV operating with 12 T superconducting magnet. The highest stabilization registered in the experiments was ΔP/P=0.6% for TE03 operating mode at frequency 301 GHz and output power 20 W
