The Total Result of The Questionnaire Survey About The July, 2004 Fukui Heavy Rainfall Disaster(Natural Science and Engineering)

In the Fukui heavy rainfall in July 2004, the inundation due to interior runoff and the inundation with river water were caused in northern part of Fukui prefecture. 1 month later from the occurrence of the disaster, a questionnaire survey to grasp the actual conditions of the damage, the communication of the refuge information and the evacuation behavior of the inhabitants were carried out in Fukui City near the Asuwa River. The results of the questionnaire showed the size of the damage by the inundation with river water and the damage by the inundation due to interior runoff. Moreover, the factor of the refuge action was clarified from the relationship between the communication of the evacuation instructions information, the refuge action and the state of flooding. This paper also introduces the part of the efforts, based on instructions from this disaster, to the protection against disasters by the local government and the inhabitants
