publisher[Abstract] Stromatolite is the fossil of the marine life of Infra-Cambrian era (ca.650-800Ma), having layered structure similar to the annual ring of woods. The mineralogy of these ring structures are studied by means of X-ray fluorescence analysis, IR (infra-red) absorption analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis. Dark-colored rings and light brown-colored intermediates are found to be consist of CaCO_3(Calcite) and Ca(FeMg)(CO_3)_2(Ankerite), respectively. Magnesium of chrolophyl origin is suspected
