The University of Notre Dame Australia last night welcomed eminent legal scholar and philosopher, Professor John Finnis, to its Sydney Campus, where he presented a paper on one of the most hotly-debated and polarising issues of our day. Professor Finnis’ lecture on philosophy, law and immigration drew a diverse audience of legal professionals, members of the clergy, members of the public and staff and students from Notre Dame and other educational institutions. His address covered the preconditions of philosophy and law as they relate to immigration policy, logically sound inquiry and the trust implied in a disposition and willingness to comply with the law being central.
