International guests visit Broome Campus

The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Broome Campus is currently hosting 19 students from the United States of America’s University of Portland (Oregon). The students will spend five weeks on campus attending classes and taking in some of the unique sights of the Kimberley including the Staircase to the Moon, Willie Creek Pearl Farm and the Manbana Hatchery. The Wundargoodie Aboriginal Safari and a camel ride on Cable Beach are also part of their busy itinerary with the students also attending a number of events on the Campus’ Barrgana Series schedule. The students are joined by Portland University staff, Father Tom Hosinski, Professor Becky Houck and Portland University Program Director, Katie Healy. Executive Director, Broome, Gavin Greaves said Portland University’s second extended visit to Broome added another dimension to the local campus. “The great success of these two visits has insured that there is great demand for placements for the Broome experience back in Oregon,” he said. “It is a pleasure to host such a great bunch of students and we hope this will become a tradition.
