Notre Dame\u27s Nursing degree receives full accreditation

The Nurses and Midwives Board of New South Wales (NMB) has notified The University of Notre Dame Australia of its support for the full accreditation of all degrees within the Sydney Campus’ School of Nursing.The NMB confirmed in a letter to the University that the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing (Mental Health) and Bachelor of Nursing (EN Articulation) are recognised as courses which ‘lead to registration as a nurse in NSW’. The School of Nursing, which opened on the Sydney Campus in 2006, has undertaken a three stage process of accreditation, during which its curriculum, clinical facilities and progress of graduates were examined.Sydney Dean of Nursing, Associate Professor Tracey Thornley, paid tribute to all who had contributed to the School’s accreditation.“This accreditation would not have been possible without our Nursing staff, the nursing profession and the clinical facilities and clinicians who have embraced and provided extensive academic and practical education support for the School and students.“This recognition from the NMB has reinforced the effectiveness of our teaching program and the contribution of our graduates to the nursing profession,” said Associate Professor Thornley.
