Kirschenbaum, Paul von Jecheskiel".Paul von Jechezkiel.Jecheskiel Dawid Kirszenbaum (Kirschenbaum) was a Polish Jewish artist, born in Staszów in 1900. He went to Germany in 1920, working as a Hebrew teacher. In 1923 he studied at Bauhaus in Weimar under Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. Kirszenbaum moved to Berlin in 1925 and worked as a cartoonist for several leftist newspapers. In 1933 he emigrated to Paris. In 1940 Kirszenbaum was classified as a 'degenerate artist', and much of his artwork was destroyed. He fled to Switzerland in 1941. After living briefly in Brazil, he returned to Paris in 1949 and became a French citizien. Jecheskiel Dawid Kirszenbaum died in 1954.Digital imag
