Effect of an educational intervention for psychiatric nurses on their knowledge about management of violent patients

Aggression and violence are significant clinical problems in psychiatric inpatient units generally and especially in Tanta Governorate as a developed country, so Nurses’ attitudes& knowledge toward patients' violence may influence their behavior towards them. Thus, the aim of this study was to assess the effect of an educational intervention for psychiatric nurses on their knowledge about management of violent patients. The study was carried out at Tanta Mental Health Hospital, The total number was 30 nurses , A self-administered questionnaire form was developed by the researchers, the results demonstrates a statistically significant improvement in nurses’ total knowledge related to violence and aggressive behavior among psychiatric patients (p
