The Páramo de Frontino is located in the northern part of the Colombian Western Cordillera. Its geographical position in the northwest of South America is strategic, because its climate is influenced by the meteorology derived principally from the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. This study presents the reconstruction of the vegetation and climate of the Páramo de Frontino during the Late Glacial. Palynology and microfluorescence-X (μXRF) are used to study the lower part of several cores at an altitude of 3460 m amsl. The age model was derived from 30 AMS 14C datations.
