Today, the buzzword is high-data rate wireless connectivity without mobility constraints. The provision of high rates to users, anytime and everywhere is challenged by the timevarying wireless medium and dynamic nature of interference. Primarily, this challenge is directly related to the limited radio resources, spectrum in particular, and energy (i.e., power) to a certain extend. Therefore, a practical resource management method, in the form of power control, that can address system interference and thus improve spectrum utilization is presented.
