In this paper, a new compact wide-band branch-line couplers are presented. Significant size reduction is achieved using the proposed configurations. Two 3-dB wide-band couplers designed and simulated at 2 GHz. More than 50% areas saving and larger than 50% fractional bandwidth have been achieved. The wide-band couplers were fabricated on RF-Duroid dielectric substrate with permittivity of 2.2 and 1.57 mm thickness. The measured results show good agreement with the simulated one. © 2009 EuMA.EuM
