This paper investigates the reliability of nonrepairable k-out-of-n systems with nonidentical components subjected to independent and common shocks. Some numerical examples are added to show how one can utilize the derived results to calculate the reliability for practical problems. The relationship between the failure rate of the system and that of its components is also investigate
