Saudi Building Code for Concrete Structures (SBC 304) focuses on guidance and guidelines for proper and safe design and construction of concrete structures in Saudi Arabia. It is also regarded as the major guard against the large uncertainty in the determination of modes of failure of structural concrete when subjected to some specific loading and environmental conditions. This paper will present the evolution of the first SBC 304. The first part of the paper will discuss the different parts of the code and highlight the different areas that covered by the code.
