Analysis of variability of the spanish sheep populations. II. Factorial studies on productive and biochemical variables

Biochemical (hemoglobines, transferrines, esterases, albumins and prealbumins) and productives variables (wool yield, thinness and fiblr length, and crimps per cm in the lock) from Manchego, Segureño and tWo ovine populations were studied. Factorial analysis and principal components and coodinates analyses were used to study. There are some differences between the breeds depending on the considered variables. The polymorphic variables seem to have a low relationship with each other but aren"t with the productives variables. A component exist that affect intensely the wool yield and in quite a minor grade, it seerns that there is another having influence on the fiber crimp and length. At last a third factot could be related to the esterases groupSe han estudiado cuatro poblaciones de ovinos, pertenecientes dos de ellas a la raza merina, otra a la segureña y otra a la manchega. Se han considerado como variables bioquímicas las siguientes hemoglobinas, transferrinas, esterasas, albúminas y preal búmina.s. De las variables productivas se han tenido en cuenta: rendimiento lanero, finura y longitud de fibra y número de ondulaciones, en la vedija, por cm lineal. A los datos obtenidos se han aplicado los métodos estadísticos de análisis factorial, análisis de componentes principales y coordenadas principales. Se concluye que, respecto a los factores que determinan las variables, existen diferencias entre las distintas razas, pero dependen de las variables que se consideren. las variables polimórficas parecen poco relacionadas entre si y tampoco lo están con las variables productivas. Existe un componente que afecta intensamente al rendimiento lanero y, en bastante menor grado, parece que otro lo hace sobre la ondulación y la longitud de la fibra. Por último, un tercer factor lo haría sobre el grupo de esterasas
