We have carried out macro and microscopical studies of the spinal rami of the a. vertebralis in seven backbones of fight heifers from the Pablo Romero Livestock, wich collapsed 2 or3 times during the filth-t. We wished to verify if the intermittent collapse is correlated with a medular ischemia, and if this is due to a thrombosis of the mentioned arteries. In the study carried out only a thrombus was found (table I), but we also found agennesis of the spinal arteries in 41 of the 98 dissected vessels. To verify if this agennesis was the cause for the intermittent collapse, we examined two hfifers wich did no collapse during the fight, and we found the same extent of agennesis of spinal rami in these test animals.
