Built in 1866 at Sorel, Que. as the tug steamer "Rocket", she ran on the lower St. Lawrence River from Montreal to Quebec. In 1892 she was owned by the North Shore Nav. Co. who rebuilt her into a passenger steamer and ran her on the Georgian Bay route out of Collingwood. Northern Navigation Co. later ran her on the same route. In 1908 the name was changed to "Britannic". She was sold in 1923 to the Montreal & Cornwall Nav. Co. who returned her to the St. Lawrence until 1938. She was dismantled at Kingston, Ont. after 72 years of service
