Se ha realizado un análisis estructural de los materiales paleozoicos, principalmente carboníferos, del sector NW del Macizo de Montalbán (Teruel).A partir de la caracterización geométrica y cinemática de los materiales deformados, se ha identificado una secuencia de tres etapas de deformación hercínicas, que incluye: 1) etapa D1 de intenso aplastamiento con desarrollo de pliegues tumbados de orientación NW-SE y esquistosidad de plano axial, 2) etapa D2 con desarrollo de pliegues vergentes y esquistosidad de crenulación y 3) etapa D3 con formación de pliegues flexurales sin esquistosidad asociada.
