The topic of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in veterans returning from the military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan is reviewed in an in-depth study through a comprehensive review of the literature. A thorough definition of PTSD is provided. An approach to identifying the pertinent literature will be outlined. The importance of the topic is discussed, including prevalence as well as impact to the individual veterans affected.
