In this paper we revisit the classical channel modelby Saleh & Valenzuela via the theory of spatial point processes.By reformulating this model as a particular point process and byrepeated application of Campbell’s Theorem we provide conciseand elegant access to its overall structure and underlying features,like the intensity function of the component delays and the delaypowerintensity. The flexibility and clarity of the mathematicalinstruments utilized to obtain these results lead us to conjecturethat the theory of spatial point processes provides a unifyingmathematical framework to define, analyze, and compare mostchannel models already suggested in literature and that thepowerful tools of this framework have not been fully exploitedi...
