The present paper discusses robustness of structures in general and the robustness requirements given in the codes. Robustness of timber structures is also an issues as this is closely related to Working group 3 (Robustness of systems) of the COST E55 project. Finally, an example of a robustness evaluation of a widespan timber truss structure is presented. This structure was built few years ago near Zagreb and has a span of 45m.
