In this paper estimation of the service lifetime of concrete bridges is discussed. The main reason for deterioration of concrete bridges is corrosion of the reinforcement. Therefore, modelling of the corrosion process is an important aspect of the estimation of the service lifetime. In this paper service lifetime is defined as the initiation time of corrosion of the reinforcement. It is shown that the service lifetime with good approximation can be modelled by a Weibull distribution
