The vertical temperature gradient is normally given as a linear temperature distribution between a minimum temperature close to the floor and a maximum temperature close to the ceiling. The minimum temperature can either be a constant fraction of a load dependent difference or it can be connected to the volume flow to the room. This paper describes a new model which takes the different types of heat sources in the occupied zone as well as the characteristic Archimedes number of the flow into account
