Systemic Competitiveness of SMEs in Mexico City, Mexico

[ESP] El objetivo de este trabajo consistió en la aplicación del modelo de competitividad sistémica, a la PYME1 del Distrito Federal. Desarrollando cuatro niveles de competitividad: Nivel macro (Entorno económico), Nivel meso (Entorno regional), Nivel meta (Entorno Socioeconómico) y Nivel micro (Factores internos). La recolección de datos se hizo por medio de un trabajo de campo e investigación documental. Los principales hallazgos son: entre las principales fortalezas del entorno económico: alto nivel de producto interno bruto, una alta productividad laboral y su autonomía fiscal, entre las principales debilidades: los sindicatos y la tasa de desempleo; por su parte entre las oportunidades destacan la inversión extranjera y entre las amenazas la inseguridad, la corrupción y la dificultad en los trámites empresariales. En el entorno regional se encontró una relación positiva y perfecta de 1 entre el número de unidades económicas y el PIB per cápita. Con respecto a los factores socioculturales, presenta niveles de pobreza y desempleo menores al resto del país. Por último, en el nivel micro, la competitividad de la PYME se encuentra en relación directa con el tamaño de la empresa y el sector industria muestra más alta competitividad que los sectores comercio y servicios. [ENG] The objective of this work was to apply the model of systemic competitiveness, SMEs2 in Mexico City. Developing four levels of competitiveness: macro level (economic environment), meso level (regional environment), Level Goal (Environment Socioeconomic) and micro Level (internal factors). Data collection was done through fieldwork and archival research. The main findings are among the major strengths of the economic environment: high level of gross domestic product, high labor productivity and fiscal autonomy, the main weaknesses: the unions and the unemployment rate; meanwhile stand between foreign investment opportunities between threats and insecurity, corruption and difficulty in business transactions. In the regional setting a positive and 1 perfect relationship between the number of economic units and per capita GDP was found. With regard to socio-cultural factors, presents lower levels of poverty and unemployment to the rest of the country. Finally, at the micro level, the competitiveness of SMEs is in direct relation to the size of the company and the industry sector shows higher competitiveness trade and services sectors
