Køling af kontorbygninger om sommeren bidrager væsentligt til elforbruget i Danmark. Udnyttelsen af faseskiftende materiale (PCM) kan bidrage til at reducere overtemperaturer om sommeren og udjævne temperatursvingninger i løbet af døgnet, hvorved behovet for både opvarmning og køling i bygninger kan reduceres. Denne artikel beskriver en numerisk metode til beregning af den ophobede latente varme i bygningskomponenter der indeholder PCM, med henblik på at evaluere indvirkningen på behovet for opvarmning og køling. Den udviklede beregningsmetode er implementeret i simuleringsprogrammet BSim (Wittchen et al., 2008).
