The objective of the study was to investigate the user perception of solar shading systems regarding glare by using laboratory tests with subjects, to compare the results with existing glare rating equations and to derive a new glare prediction model. The laboratory tests were conducted at the Danish Building Research Institute and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. At each site, the study was performed in two identical experimental rooms, one with subjects, and the other with measuring equipment.
