The article discusses the challeges of the Danish Lutheran Church. The author distinguishes between the organisation on the one hand and the faith (the faithfulls) on the other; and also between internal and external challenges. Of external challenges he discusses a) the EU, b)the international cooperation and c) the Church and Islam. Concerning the internal challenges he discusses: a) the different kinds of membership (passive and active), b) the processes of change within the 'organisation' hurch, and c) the politizised church
